About the role

This critical role supports the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Operations function of the Finance team, reporting directly to the S&OP and MPF Senior Director for the South Region. The Senior Manager, S&OP and Finance Operations is responsible for leading all aspects of volume and revenue forecasting for Profiled Waste MPF facilities, while owning full P&L planning and analysis for the logistics function in the South Region.

Acting as the primary liaison across Commercial, Operations, Logistics, and Finance, this role ensures alignment on projected volumes and revenue targets, driving cross-functional collaboration and accountability. Beyond forecasting, the Senior Manager plays a key role in identifying trends, conducting in-depth analyses, and delivering strategic insights and recommendations that inform decision-making for both MPF S&OP and Logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the MPF S&OP process across multiple facilities, coordinating input from Sales, Finance, and Operations to develop, implement, and continuously enhance the regional S&OP plan.
  • Facilitate the monthly S&OP cycle, driving demand planning, supply planning, and cross-functional consensus to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze and resolve demand-related issues with accuracy and speed, leveraging cross-functional collaboration to maintain forecast integrity.
  • Serve as business partner and hold full P&L responsibility for the Transportation business, ensuring profitability, transparency, and operational accountability.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of logistics performance, market trends, and new business opportunities; lead ad hoc projects that drive efficiency and growth.
  • Provide financial leadership in long-term strategy, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts, ensuring alignment with both MPF and Transportation objectives.
  • Maintain deep expertise in transportation and logistics operating expenses, enabling cost control, efficiency improvements, and informed decision-making.
  • Support the South Region in forecasting Profiled Waste volumes, ensuring accuracy and integration into the broader S&OP process.
  • Leverage tools and data models to create demand plans based on business trends and patterns, identifying risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, define and track KPIs, and clearly communicate results to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Deliver pricing and mix analysis, providing actionable recommendations that optimize margin and revenue outcomes.
  • Build and refine sales and volume reporting dashboards, ensuring timely insights for leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Commercial Finance, Corporate FP&A, and global affiliates to align forecasts and financial planning assumptions.
  • Reconcile financial data across systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SmartView, FDM) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability in reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Administration, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 10+ Years or equivalent experience in Finance, S&OP, and Operations.
  • Accountability, Collaboration, eager to learn, drive by results, manage ambiguity, self-management, self-motivated, critical thinking, and strong business acumen.
  • Strong change management and leadership skills, influencing decisions and supporting the business.
  • Strong analytical, with ability to understand the impact of changes on financials and support to investigate corrective action.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to build a strong network across the organization.
  • Ability to work with a range of functionally diverse peoples, influencing them to get things done, and delivering value added business results that meet high quality requirements within deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools, e.g. Oracle Enterprise Planning, SmartView Ad hoc reporting, and Power Bi.
  • Excellent proficiency in organizing and analyzing large amounts of data.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and database skills.
