Position Description:

The Department of Health, Sport, and Human Physiology invites applications for a 50%, 9-month, Visiting Assistant Professor opportunity in nutrition with a start date of January 14, 2026, renewable in one-year increments for up to a total of three years.Applications are sought from candidates with a demonstrated potential or established record of outstanding teaching in at least two of the following content areas: nutrition, health promotion, obesity, and/or social determinants of health.

Education Requirement:


  • Master's degree in nutrition, health promotion, kinesiology, exercise science, health studies, public health, or related field in hand by appointment start date.


Required Qualifications:


  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Previous teaching experience in nutrition, health promotion, kinesiology, exercise science, health studies, or public health at the college level


Desirable Qualifications:


  • PhD in nutrition, health promotion, kinesiology, exercise science, health studies, public health or related field.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Previous teaching as a primary instructor at the college level.
  • Previous teaching experience in large enrollment courses at the college level.
  • Previous supervision of graduate teaching assistants.
  • Previous professional experience as a practitioner in nutrition, health promotion, kinesiology, exercise science, health studies, or public health.
