Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The TDOC Finance Division oversees $1.5 billion dollar budget for the operation of all TDOC facilities and programs. The Division is also responsible for overseeing all procurement and contracts for the agency, as well as the areas of budgeting, accounting, payroll services, asset management, institution food service operations, and grant programs. How you make a difference in this role: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure prisons and provides effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety. Job Overview: The DAC Procurement & Contracts reports directly to the CFO/Assistant Commissioner of Finance and leads, mentors, and trains each director and manager through empowerment, communication, and delegated authority. This position will collaborate with Department leadership in developing programs, technical direction, and organizational structures that align with the Procurement and Contracts Sections strategic vision. The DAC Procurement & Contracts will have oversight over the areas of procurement, contracting, and asset management and directly supervise the Procurement Director Contract Specialists, and Asset Management Director. They will provide guidance to their staff with assisting in the development of performance plans, schedules, and performance metrics that ensure expected outcomes, accountability of each team member, and alignment with the Procurement and Contracts Sections' Work Program. This position will maintain the availability of resources that provide for the success of the Procurement and Contracts Section. This position will empower staff to implement national best practices that drive innovation, improve performance, and ensure alignment with the Departments strategic goals. Key Responsibilities:
