Job Description

The Department of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist I for a trainee-level research position focused on stem cell biology. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research in the fields of hematology, leukemia, and cardiovascular disease, while gaining hands-on experience and developing independent scientific thinking and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and assist in ongoing research projects related to stem cell biology, hematology, leukemia, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Maintain accurate and organized research records, documentation, and laboratory notebooks.
  • Learn and apply a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures in molecular biology, cell culture, and related fields.
  • Participate in lab meetings, discussions, and collaborative research efforts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research materials, presentations, and publications.

Shift

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Flexible hours are possible.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in biomedical science.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.07 per hour
Grade: GGS - 007
