Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$120,400.00 to$200,700.00.

Position Details

Reporting to the Director, Sales Compensation, the Senior Manager, Goal Setting Strategy, is responsible for guiding Grainger's overarching sales compensation and goal setting strategy. You will introduce future sales compensation recommendations to ensure the plans remain aligned with Grainger's strategic direction and lead the seamless beginning-to-end execution of the goal-setting process for the Grainger sales organization. This is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in office at either of the Lake Forest or Chicago, IL offices.

You Will

  • Lead the team responsible for developing short and long-term sales compensation strategy recommendations.
  • Lead the cross-functional team accountable for executing a seamless goal setting process for all Grainger US and Canada commissioned roles.
  • Continually evaluate sales compensation strategy to ensure it aligns with current organizational objectives and market best practice.
  • Direct the data analysis and modeling needed to support all sales compensation strategy decisions.
  • Lead stakeholders and change management for all aspects of sales compensation strategy and goal setting.
  • Provides project leadership and oversight to ensure accurate and on-time deployment.
  • Communicate all sales compensation plan changes and goal setting outcomes.
  • Continually assess end-to-end processes, technology, governance, education, and communication materials to identify and drive improvement activities.

You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Operations or Finance preferred.
  • 7+ years' sales compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience presenting to various levels of the organization, while translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences. (Advanced proficiency)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating sales compensation programs to achieve desired goals. (Intermediate proficiency)
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights. (Advanced proficiency)
  • Experience with Excel doing financial modeling and analysis. Experience building large data sets and variable models using multiple inputs. Use of a wide array of formulas including INDEX, LOOKUP, and simple macros. (Advanced proficiency)
  • Knowledge of SAP and Vistex preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Preferred within 1-1/2 Yrs preferred.
