In addition, the Building Performance Engineer will interface with clients and manage the budget and schedule for individually assigned projects as well as collaborate with team members on other projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  
 Creates energy models using industry-standard software to assess code compliance and high performance designAnalyzes, reviews, and/or consults on project documentation of energy-related systems found in architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specificationsPerforms calculations to document various MEP-related credits in the LEED rating systemsManages individually assigned projects by monitoring the budget and schedule as well as maintaining communication with the client to ensure the project is completed to the client's expectations
 
  
 Capable of working on and/or managing multiple projects, clients, and deadlines simultaneously
 
  
 Communicates high performance design and sustainable design regulations to project teams through coordination meetings and technical reports.Assists senior staff and service line director in procuring and pursuing new work and new clients through proposal development and project interviews, as needed.Maintains a positive relationship with internal and external clients through proactive, high-quality communication and work productAttends and leads project design/construction meetings as neededParticipates in building walk-throughs and site visits for Energy Star ratings and other energy performance evaluations.Regularly reviews updates and addenda to energy- and sustainability-related codes and policies.Develops technical documentation, proposals, and presentations for clientsContinuously looks for ways to improve the speed and efficiency of task completion and proactively shares best practices with the team.Continuously expands knowledge of building science and MEP system design & control, as well as the software, tools, codes, and rating systems that support our service linesCommunicates across disciplines (MEP, Architect, Contractor) for workflow and information needs for deliverablesAssists with training of less experienced colleagues on energy- and sustainability-related documentation and processes

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) softwareKnowledge of energy modeling simulation programs (e.g., IESVE, Trane TRACE 700)Knowledge of HVAC systems, loads, and controlsKnowledge of standards, codes, and rating systems associated with sustainability and energy performanceKnowledge of sustainable building practicesKnowledge and understanding of energy modeling processKnowledge of LEED credit requirements

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  
 Bachelor's degree in EngineeringSix years of relevant experience; experience in energy modeling and working on LEED projectsProfessional Engineer LicensureAccreditation as a LEED AP or ASHRAE BEMP preferred
