The Field Engineer will assist in the supervision of field work performed by Weitz and/or our subcontractors.  What You'll Do: 
  
 Participate in the development of the project plan and ensure proper executionMake recommendations to the supervisor for design or other changes that will enhance the quality of the project, reduce operating and maintain costs, improve the scheduled completion, and/or decrease construction costsAssist Superintendent with equipment review and planningAssist Superintendent with pre-construction meetings with appropriate subcontractors prior to their start in the fieldMaintain and protect all tools, equipment, and materials on the jobsiteAssist Superintendent with site logistics and cleanup to present a professional image to the publicMaintain accurate cost reporting and respond to RFI'sAssist the Superintendent, as needed, in developing, updating, and maintaining the project scheduleDocument all delays and inform SuperintendentAssist in monitoring the field performance for all aspects of the project including subcontractors, employees, consultants, schedules, quality, and costsMaintain routine relations with owners' and architects' representatives. Major disputes or problems encountered are discussed with appropriate SupervisorSet up, organize, read, communicate, and update project schedules 
 What We're Looking For: 
  
 Experience:
 
    
 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, other construction-related role, or related internship experienceIndustry related degree or coursework is a plus
 
Skills:
 
    
 Ability to read and interpret construction documentsKnowledge of construction methods and materials High level of initiative and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication Detail-oriented and highly organized Flexibility to balance competing needsAbility to build positive relationships across the organization 
 
Technology:
 
    
 Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hire
