Statement of Purpose

The Program Manager, Data Visualization is a key member of the IT Data and Analytics team at NIB, tasked with shaping a cohesive enterprise data strategy by consolidating and standardizing data and analytics methodologies, platforms, and practices across the organization. This role focuses on collaborating with stakeholders throughout NIB to design and implement standardized data visualization solutions, such as dashboards and models, that align key metrics and data to drive organizational consistency and insight. The Program Manager collaborates closely with key stakeholders to ensure data is a curated, shared, strategic asset that enhances mission success and operational effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include developing user-friendly end-user products like dashboards and reports, ensuring data accessibility, and supporting the adoption of best practices in data visualization to empower data driven decision-making across NIB. The Program Manager, Data Visualization will transform complex data into a strategic asset, driving consistency, innovation, and operational excellence across NIB through advanced visualization and analytical practices.

Education

Undergraduate degree in IT, business, economics, statistics, or operations research is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Training and Specialized Knowledge



  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate exceptional leadership and teaming capabilities, working autonomously to deliver measurable results while building strong, trust-based relationships with business customers across NIB to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with diverse stakeholders to standardize data visualization solutions, ensuring consistent metrics and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Data Visualization Development: Design and develop intuitive, high-impact visualization tools (e.g., dashboards, reports, and models) using advanced tools and programming languages, including QuickSight, Excel, VBA, Python, SQL, and related database query systems, to present complex data in accessible formats.
  • Analytical Expertise: Apply strong analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills to synthesize complex information, benchmark performance, and anticipate and resolve multifaceted challenges in data interpretation and presentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Leverage in-depth knowledge of technology platforms, database structures, query development, and report generation, to create robust data products and ensure seamless data integration.
  • Strategic Reporting: Produce structured, fact-based strategy reports, such as narrative business plans and presentations, which distill complex data into succinct conclusions and actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Program Management: Employ strong program management skills to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with NIB's enterprise data strategy.
  • Communication Excellence: Utilize exceptional written and verbal communication skills to deliver compelling presentations and reports that effectively convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Experience: Draw on prior experience in developing business and operational metrics, particularly in demand and supply planning, to inform data-driven strategies and enhance visualization solutions.

Experience



  • A minimum of 8 years executing the planning, forecasting, reviewing and analysis of business data, sales and operations planning and/or an operations research analysis.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities



  • Strategic Visualization Solutions: Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance NIB's standardized data visualization tools, leveraging historical data and environmental causal factors to create dashboards, models, and reports that support all NIB business lines and drive operational insights.
  • Data Quality Management: Monitor and analyze data quality challenges across major business and product lines, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Strategic Planning Support: Contribute actionable recommendations to the IT strategic planning process, aligning data visualization initiatives with NIB's long-term goals and technological advancements.
  • Data Integrity Assurance: Establish and maintain robust processes to curate and enhance the integrity of reference data within NIB systems, ensuring consistency and trustworthiness of data assets.
  • Customized Reporting for Leadership: Design and deliver tailored dashboards, reports, metrics, and analytical models to meet the specific needs of senior leadership, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Technology and Business Case Development: Support the creation of technology solutions and business cases by providing data-driven insights and visualizations that justify investments and strategic initiatives.
  • Data Collection and Process Improvement: Identify gaps in data collection and analysis capabilities, recommending modifications to business processes, rules, and data mappings to improve accuracy, operational performance visibility, and decision-making through enhanced metrics and translational logic.
  • Operational and Strategic Support: Support both short and long-term operational and strategic business activities by developing, enhancing, and maintaining operational information, forecasting models, and performance metrics.
  • Research and Solution Development: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of data and existing forecasting/measuring processes to develop and implement effective, strategic operational solutions that optimize business performance.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis: Perform rigorous qualitative and quantitative analyses to produce metrics and insights for assigned business areas, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ongoing and Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide regular analytical reports and metrics, as well as targeted analyses to support specific inquiries, ensuring timely and actionable insights for stakeholders.
