What You Will Do

• Instructs and guides other maintenance persons.
• Performs electrical functions, i.e., change ballast, wall sockets, light switches, entrance systems, etc.
• Performs carpentry functions, i.e., repair of office furniture, doors, door-locks, shelves, etc.
• Performs a variety of physical duties, including but not limited to stooping, bending, stair climbing, crouching, laying down, bending/stretching, receiving/lifting/transporting heavy objects/boxes/furniture of varying weights, shelving/ sorting and related activities using judgment and discretion.
• Transports and utilizes required tools/supplies varying weights to provide services in accordance with Agency policies and practices.
• Travels to various VNS Health facilities/locations with varying environments using approved transportation options (i.e., car, public transportation, etc.) to provide services
• Performs plumbing functions, i.e., change washers, snake clogged drains, repair/change flushometers, minor pipe repairs, etc.
• Performs plastering functions, i.e., minor repairs to walls, floors, sidewalks, etc.
• Performs painting functions, i.e., individual offices, bathrooms, hallways, entrances, doors, etc.
• Performs Custodian duties, as required.
• Provides training to Custodians, as required.
