Strategic Projects Internship

This internship opportunity with Arcwood Environmental is a 12-week program where you are immersed in your assigned department gaining real hands-on experience and participating in 12-15 different events with the intern cohort.

The Strategic Projects Intern at Arcwood Environmental works with the team to learn the daily tasks involved in shipping large-volume bulk hazardous waste. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience learning about rail cars, soil remediation, and more - all within an environmentally focused organization.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Learn functions of multiple departments, internal tracking system(s), EPA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.
  • Support the Strategic Projects Group with respect to project shipments and proposal writing.
  • Help fulfill project needs in terms of equipment and labor; Tracks safety and adherence to timeframes and costs throughout the project to ensure external and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Extract data from rail car tracking reports; Use information to generate operations reports and manage project and railcar logistics.
  • Manage specific project and transportation related functions as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:



  • Candidate must be a full-time enrolled college student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science (Environmental, Chemistry, Geology), Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (required)


Competencies:



  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 out of 12 weeks.
