Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Part Time Advanced Manufacturing Specialist. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Overview:
A Manufacturing Planning Specialist is responsible for developing and overseeing production schedules, managing material requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of components to meet project deadlines. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering
* Interfaces periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolution
* Develops reports on unit status and shipments as required
* Compiles and monitors monthly production schedules
* Develops detailed schedules, production plans, and capacity plans
* Maintains forecast in the production and material planning tool and updates as required
* Creates production and material plans to include inventory goals and schedules
* Identifies process flow improvements and implements them
* Reviews work authorization documents and generates material program plans, coordinates kick-off meetings with functional departments to communicate program goals and objectives
* Creates complex material structures in the material planning tool
* Oversees the master schedule and ensures compliance with material requirements for manufacturing
* Manages the procurement planning for a medium size program and ensures materials are available according to schedules
* Responsible for the production and material planning performance of several programs or one very large program
* Negotiates schedules with the program based on material availability

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
* Ability to problem solve utilizing analytical skills
* Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on details
* Highly proficient skills in the Microsoft Office tools
* Highly proficient understanding of the material planning tools, concepts, and methodologies
* Highly proficient understanding of the proposal process for both material and labor estimating
* Highly proficient understanding of concurrent engineering principles and government compliance regulations
* Highly proficient understanding of MRP/ERP principles
* Highly proficient understanding of negotiation and persuasion skills
* Highly proficient time management skills
* Highly proficient ability to implement change and monitor effectiveness of the change
* Exercises highly proficient judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Target salary range: USD $93,487.00/Yr. - USD $101,156.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
