Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 6+ contract position with a manufacturing client located in Oshkosh, WI. Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, and develop reliable, cost-effective components for heavy-duty vehicles. This role will support both new and existing vehicle platforms by leading integration and execution of component and system designs. The position requires the ability to handle projects of moderate complexity, provide mentorship to junior staff, and ensure designs meet safety, performance, and quality standards. Responsibilities: Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and assigned tasks in line with industry and company standards. Support preparation of engineering plans, designs, methods, and reports. Lead projects or sub-projects of moderate complexity; may manage multiple projects simultaneously. Collaborate with internal engineering teams, other business units, and external suppliers. Mentor and guide junior engineers, designers, and technicians. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders on technical issues. Ensure compliance with engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company policies. Evaluate designs for safety, reliability, and performance. Direct and review preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Perform analyses to support the selection of components, materials, and parts. Provide technical support to production and resolve reported engineering issues. Prepare and deliver technical reports, proposals, quotations, and presentations. Create and maintain detailed project documentation for research and historical purposes. Apply mathematical and analytical methods to model performance and optimize designs. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and perform other assigned duties. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. 3+ years of engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems. Proficiency with advanced CAD tools. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Proven ability to evaluate technical designs and solve problems. Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced engineers.
