Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM). We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrator II - Logistics/Material Handler to join our Corporate Planning team in San Jose, CA. In this vital role, you will support warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of materials and shipments for both domestic and international destinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily warehouse activities, including shipments to customers, vendors and other MCHP sites, both domestic and international.
  • Learn and utilize warehouse ERP systems such as BaaN, AX2012, and the Shipping Authorization tool.
  • Using the Ace government system, for filing shipments over $2500 in value.
  • Prepare shipping documents and airway bills for all outgoing shipments, using systems such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
  • Coordinate with third-party carriers (e.g., KWE, Morrison) for logistics and transportation needs. Ensure compliance with export regulations, including accurate processing of invoices, HTS/ECCN numbers, and EEI filings.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management software and computer terminals.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and observe all health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to work overtime, when required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, with at least 8 years of experience working in a warehouse, shipping and receiving, distribution or related work environment.
  • Dangerous goods certification preferred.
  • Solid experience in shipping and logistics, including both domestic and international shipments.
  • Skilled in preparing airway bills using FedEx, UPS, and DHL systems.
  • Familiarity with third-party carriers (e.g., KWE, Morrison) and invoices, HTS/ECCN numbers, EEI filing.
  • Proficient in operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and using warehouse management software and computer terminals.
  • Able to lift, carry, sort, push, pull or sort items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and frequent use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation throughout the workday.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; able to work with tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consistently follows all health and safety regulations.

Benefits of working at Microchip

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $34,000 - $82,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
