Apprentice Press Technician Penn United Technologies, Inc., a leading advanced contract manufacturer, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Apprentice Press Technician to join our Stamping team. We are seeking candidates with strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in a collaborative manufacturing environment and take pride in delivering high-quality work. Responsibilities:
- Learn, according to applicable apprenticeship standards for Press Technology, the knowledge and skills necessary to receive state certified journeyman's papers upon completion of the program (typically 3 years)
- Learn to install, align, and lock dies into rams or beds of machines
- Set-up, operate and monitor progressive stamping die presses that punch, crimp, bend, etc.. to make quality metal parts
- Test and adjust machine feeds and speeds. Record operational, quality, and shipping documentation
- Clean and lubricate machines
- Regular attendance for on-site apprenticeship classes
- Follow all safety and quality programs and procedures
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; some vocational-technical training preferred
- High level of technical, mechanical and math ability
- Desire to learn and ability to apply knowledge to on-the-job tasks
- Able to regularly attend required, on-site apprenticeship classes
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Service attitude, commitment to safety and quality
- Must be able to work rotating shifts (day, afternoon and midnight)
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
