Pay Rate $33 per hour
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in email marketing, audience engagement, or a related digital marketing function.


Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Experience working with CRM and email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex digital marketing projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in graphic design platforms through Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools and a data-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with email preference centers and subscription management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Experience working in higher education or other mission-driven environments is preferred.


Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate institution-wide email marketing efforts by managing a centralized calendar, aligning strategies across departments. Oversee the creation of targeted campaigns, an email preference center, and strategic content to enhance engagement and support University goals.

  • Serve as the "air traffic controller" for email sends across University Communications, University Advancement and the University at large.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized email calendar within University Advancement to prevent oversaturation and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the integration of Ascend with Marketing Cloud and other enterprise platforms.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of an email preference center as technology allows to provide audiences with opt-out and subscription options.
  • Guide the development of targeted, behavior-based email campaigns that support institutional priorities and user engagement goals.
  • Create content for email marketing for stakeholders within University Advancement and the University at large.


Other Work/Responsibilities

  • Foster supportive and productive relationships with colleagues both within Advancement and the University as a whole.
  • Represent University Communications in cross-campus meetings and stakeholder sessions related to email engagement strategy.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
