In this role, the QUALITY TECHNICIAN is responsible for ensuring materials and finished goods conform to all company and customer standards. Perform inspections on incoming materials and in-process and final product to ensure quality levels are met. Perform first piece set-up and First Article Inspections in accordance with established inspection plans. QUALITY TECHNICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to: Conduct receiving, in-process, final inspections, and first piece set-up utilizing the appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional and functional requirements. Conduct visual examination of product in accordance with customer specifications and company workmanship standards. Perform formal documented First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for internal and external customers. Prepare, maintain, and review inspection reports. Perform containment activities preventing potential or additional quality defects. Assist in the development of in-process control charts for monitoring / improving performance. Provide internal and external audit support as requested. Support engineering functions with data collection, product review, etc. as requested. Effectively communicate with cross-functional areas; supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, quality engineering, customer service, production planning. Participate in lean activities as required. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED required; preferred associates degree in Quality Assurance or related manufacturing field Minimum 2-5 years quality assurance experience required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Intermediate knowledge in use of standard inspection equipment and basic hand tools, such as: calipers, micrometers, steel rules, pin gages, go-no-go gages, CMM and Vision equipment Intermediate knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawings and specifications, sampling techniques, and safety information. Good Familiarity with ISO 13485, AS 9100, FDA Quality System Regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Intermediate problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently. Ability to demonstrate a record of good performance in meeting high standards of quality, quantity and dependability (attendance and punctuality). Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate and work well with others. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be detail oriented to keep accurate records and files. Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
