Job Description: Responsible for managing all affairs between GDLS and Suppliers, including buying, planning, and expediting of parts. Duties Include: - Responsible for learning and managing all affairs relative to the position of a General Procurement Buyer - Learn to analyze the Oracle system for material needs - Solicitation and preparation of Request for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Information (RFIs) - Learn and conduct cost analysis of proposals - Learn and understand price analysis of quotes - Proposal fact finding - Learn and conduct proposal negotiations (including cost and terms and conditions) - Purchase Order preparation, placement and continued administration / monitoring to assure Subcontractor compliance - Learn and administer Subcontracts / Purchase orders, control costs and assure on-time delivery to support program requirements - Buying which includes analysis of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) needs - Serve as the focal point between the suppliers and GDLS functional departments and program offices - Manage quality, design and payment issues with Subcontractors/Suppliers - Ensure GDLS compliance with applicable procurement laws and regulations - Learn and administration of Purchase Order kick off meetings and on-site program reviews at Suppliers - Review and analyze planning to assure Subcontracts / Purchase orders are placed within supplier lead-time - Expediting parts - Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in a business or supply chain area of study in process, sophomore or higher preferred - Ability to use and learn Oracle system & associated computer systems - Ability to negotiate -Strong communication (oral & written) and problem solving skills - Problem solving - Excellent business acumen -Ability to compose emails |
