Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Serves as the manager and lead for the ongoing organization and documentation of simulation curriculum projects for Boston Children's Hospital-based and partner-based clients. Ensures systematic, thorough documentation and project tracking to strengthen program sustainability and transparency. Prioritizes collaborative strategy co-design, planning, and execution to align IDS objectives with institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and document all simulation curriculum development initiatives, including new program design, renewal, and improvement efforts.
- Oversee and maintains comprehensive project tracking systems to ensure sustainability, transparency, and alignment with institutional goals.
- Lead collaborative strategy, planning, and execution of simulation education projects for BCH and partner-based clients.
- Develop detailed project plans, workflows, and documentation protocols to promote continuity and accountability.
- Implement instructional design and simulation best practices, ensuring clarity in outcomes and robust assessment mechanisms.
- Conduct capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Provide oversight of the Simulated Participant (SP) Manager, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and program evaluation.
- Mentor and develops a skilled team, reinforcing structured documentation and project management standards.
- Partner with the Simulation Quality Lead to document training effectiveness through systematic feedback and evaluation processes.
- Facilitate the BCH Simulation Users Group, promoting knowledge sharing and consistent documentation across the institution.
- Offer faculty development and just-in-time support in simulation-based teaching and instructional design principles.
- Stay current on trends in simulation education, capacity planning, and instructional design, fostering professional growth within the team and the broader BCH community.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field (e.g., Educational, Psychology, Medical)
Master's Degree preferred
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development, training, and program implementation within healthcare or clinical education settings.
- Proven instructional design expertise with advanced organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles, learning assessment strategies, and simulation-based education methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative abilities with the capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex education projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal, diplomacy, and negotiation skills to foster collaboration and drive innovative curricular solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with faculty, clinicians, and staff locally, regionally, and internationally, and to contribute to the field through research or publication.
- Outstanding organizational abilities to plan, develop, and manage curricula and educational programs in a high-volume academic or clinical environment.
- Skilled in group facilitation and delivering effective training sessions for diverse learner groups.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience building collaborative programs with busy clinicians is preferred
- Clinical experience and/or experience working in a fast-paced hospital setting is strongly preferred but not required.
