Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Business Officer is responsible for the general administrative operations of the School of Nursing in concert with the School Director. The Business Officer assists with the hiring of personnel, budget planning, monitoring of purchases and travel, marketing, teaching, and learning software and technology contracts, and nursing organization memberships for the school.
Responsible for providing support for administrative coordination to the School Director and other Associate Directors.
- Manages the SON operating budget, trusts, and endowments in collaboration with BCST.
- Manages SON resources including personnel records, facilities, and equipment.
- Maintains databases of FLAC, non-instructional costs, and budget models.
- Prepares financial reports for Director and BCST as needed.
- Prepares monthly FLAC and non-instructional cost reports for BCST.
- Responsible for procurement approvals, ATI testing resources, and Skyfactor.
- Maintains databases for faculty credentials (RN, certifications), NURSYS, and NCBON education requirement for prelicensure and ABSN faculty.
- Manages all clinical contracts, faculty stipend contracts, and software updates for faculty and staff.
- Collaborates with the Executive team to create/revise policies focused on the financial interest of the SON.
- Assists with the hiring of personnel.
- Participates in Executive Team, Leadership Team, Steering Committee, and Faculty Council meetings.
- Coordinates budget modifications for Corbett and other internal grants as directed.
- Provides oversight of all program spending i.e., simulation supplies, Standardized Patients, faculty start-up funds, testing programs, and DNP intensives.
- Collaborates with BCST on faculty travel maintenance

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience in business, accounting, or personnel operations, including two years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
- Master's degree in business administration from an accredited university or college.
- Three years of business management or administration experience.
- Two years of grant and/or contract administration experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications such as Microsoft 365
- Ability to prepare spreadsheets
- Ability to analyze financial data and make strategic business recommendations
- Ability to identify change impacts and solutions
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with agency staff and external partners; strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others
