What We Offer

This position in the Warehousing & Bulk Terminal Operations Group and will be responsible for the daily operations of Covestro's Distribution Centers, public warehouses, third party drumming facilities and bulk terminal facilities. The incumbent will ensure that corporate policies, procedures and standards are maintained.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation of activities with key external logistics suppliers/vendors, 3rd party warehouses and bulk facilities to ensure customer and cost objectives are met/exceeded
  • Maintains inventory and asset accuracy for various third-party facilities, package, rail and bulk, with annual inventories of 432 MM kg (953 MM lb), total capital of 1,308 MM dollars.
  • Develops projects and strategic plans that assist business units in developing and meeting short and long term logistic and business goals.
  • Develops, modifies, and audits operational procedures for warehouses, bulk terminals and transload operations.
  • Trains, supports, and leads 3PL personnel on a wide range of logistics functions including training on the operational procedures.
  • Participates in physical inventory audits and coordinates internal cycle count processes for assigned SC&L NA managed facilities.
  • Assists in compliance audits and reviews of warehouses, transloaders and bulk terminals.
  • Ability to fully utilize systems and reporting tools and make recommendations for improvement/system enhancements.

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or relevant field with experience in a logistics/supply chain function. Or associates degree and 1+ year of experience, Or a high school diploma and 11 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and SAP BW
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehousing, bulk terminal operations, and inventory control coupled with a high level of supply chain expertise.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to travel and work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
