Overview

The Trade Compliance Manager provides guidance, work products, and authorizations to ensure company trade compliance with all U.S. Government regulations to include the: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and other USG agencies as needed.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Provide trade compliance guidance and export authorization strategy on new business opportunities, proposals and contracts.
  • Review program requirements, determine export authorizations needed, and then develop, submit, and execute exemption or licensing as needed.
  • Coordinate export documentation requirements with Shipping/Receiving and Program Management.
  • Evaluate and authorize the release of international shipments, technical data and defense services to foreign persons.
  • Execute AES/EEI and DFE filings.
  • Coordinate imports with program management, purchasing, shipping, and customs broker for import clearances, licenses / exemptions and duty.
  • Train personnel in available export authorizations prior to foreign interactions.
  • Monitor company activities for import or export violations and report to company management and US agencies
  • Maintain registrations or bonds with DDTC, ATF, Customs Broker, AES, etc.
  • Be the primary company focal point with US Government agencies for all import and export inquiries.
  • Assess and certify company compliance with Federal laws concerning import/export. Maintain comprehensive import/export records as required by federal law, and provide reports to US Government agencies and Corporate as appropriate.
  • Train, manage, and empower trade compliance personnel in the activities as described herewith.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred - experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience required; prefer 10 years direct applicable experience; in-depth and direct working experience with ITAR, EAR, ATFE and OFAC regulations required.
    • Must be an empowered official.
    • Detailed working knowledge of current U.S. government export and import regulations.
    • Standard computer skills required.
