Position Summary:


Set up and/or operate: pallet jack, boring machines, miter saw, slotter machine, Pade profiler, single/double head profiler, Pade round end tenon, Balestrini tenon, Camam corner block, Rotary shaper, SCMI router, Double head shaper, Double end trim/bore, Team Balestrini, MIA Balestrini, MZ CNC bandsaw, spindle carver, Nichols block machine. Also assist in off loading the prior listed machinery.



Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities:



1. Sets up and operates machines due to production needs



2. Examines frame ticket to determine what wood panels/parts are needed and quantity needed. Selects, installs, aligns, and adjusts cutterheads, forms, jigs needed to achieve proper quality tolerances guides, using hand tools.



3. Measures shaped stock to verify size and quantity needed is produced using rulers and/or tape measures.



4. May also hold and push stock into cutterheads without aid of jig or guide.



5. Boring machines, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, hold wood stock against form and engage machine via either foot pedal/hand controls. Place cut parts on shop cart



6.Miter saw, read ticket to determine what quantity of parts and size are needed for production of that part. Hold part on bed of saw and engage saw with opposite hand to cut needed part. Place cut parts on shop cart



7. Slotter, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, hold wood stock against bed and wait for clamp to assist in holding part. Place machine parts on shop cart.



8. Pade Profiler/Profiler, verify that correct file and forms are loaded in machine, read ticket to verify qty/part needed, place wood stock on form and engage machine (safety door will close) once machine runs cycle safety door will open, remove part/inspect and place on shop cart.



9.Pade round end tenon/Balestrini Tenon Machine, make sure correct set up for part being run is on machine, place part on bed and hold against form/jig, clamp will assist in holding part, cutter head will cycle from left to right and create tenon, remove part and place parts on shop cart



10.Camam Corner Block Machine, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load wood stock in hopper and start machine, paying close attention to hopper making sure is feeds as designed. Keep hoop loaded and periodically inspect parts coming off machine. Parts will fall off machine into box placed on pallet at front of machine.



11. Rotary Shaper, verify that correct forms are loaded in machine, read ticket to verify qty/part needed, place wood stock on form and engage machine, run machine without cutter head making sure head does not contact form/clamps. Remove part and place on shop cart



12. SCMI Router, ***always operate machine from left to right***, make sure stops are secure, verify that correct forms are loaded on machine, read ticket to verify qty/part needed, place wood stock on form and engage machine. Remove part and place on shop cart



13. Double Head Shaper, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load wood onto bed making sure against stop, use ez feed to move part or manually feed part across cutter head-making sure hands are clear of cutter head, Remove part and place on shop cart



14.Double End Trim Bore, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load wood onto bed making sure against stop, clamp will assist in holding part-keep hands clear, engage machine to run cycle. Remove part and place on shop cart



15. Team Balestrini, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load wood onto bed making sure against stop, clamp will assist in holding part-keep hands clear, engage machine to run cycle. Remove part and place on shop cart



16.MIA Balestrini, make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load wood onto bed making sure against stop, clamp will assist in holding part-keep hands clear, engage machine to run cycle. Remove part and place on shop cart.



17. MZ CNC Bandsaw, , make sure set up is correct for part being produced, read ticket to verify qty needed, load panels on bed of machine (sometimes stacked 2 or 3 high), engage machine and watching as machine makes cuts, remove scrap from machine and place in scrap box, place parts on shop cart.



18. Spindle Carver, select correct knife for part being produced, attach knife to spindle. Turn carver on and hold parts against knife as it is rotating to create shape of part, place parts in box on shop cart.



19, Nichols Block Machine, feed wood stock into cutter/drilling head, rotating parts 180 degrees as each part is cut/drilled to create correct corner block angle, checking work periodically coming off machine for correct size and cuts. Blocks will fall off machine at rear and go into box placed on pallet.

Compensation:



The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20 to $25 depending on experience.
