Leidos is seeking a talented Operations Data Analyst - Subject Matter Expert to monitor, leverage, and provide analysis of various open-source, closed-source, and Agency-provided tools and cyber intel to protect the NASA Enterprise Network. This includes analyzing actors, tools, exploits, and malware determining tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by threat-actors; analyzing security events and data feeds for even detection; data correlation from monitoring solution(s); and coordinating with the Agency Security Operations Center (SOC) to conduct triage, assisting in the discovery or network anomalies, cyber vulnerabilities, and the investigation of cyber incidents.

The candidate will be part of a diverse operations and engineering team focused on providing analysis, recommended courses of action, and support to the NASA Integrated Operations Center (NIOC). The analysis is intended to understand the risk profiles and attack surfaces in the NASA Enterprise Network blue, gray, and red spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical analysis for a talented group of operations and engineering personnel in the development of application of system and solution engineering to IT projects

  • Provide inputs / risk assessments to project engineering efforts across multiple contract organizations

  • Collaborate with NASA leadership, providing regular updates, recommendations, to assist mitigation of network risks.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging risks and technologies in networking and communications to maintain system excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typical Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

  • Industry cybersecurity certification; e.g. CISSP, SEC+, CISM, CySA+

  • Candidate must have proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team of varying technical skills and levels of cybersecurity expertise.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate

  • US Citizenship required

  • Experience with network tools: e.g. Spectrum, StealthWatch / SNAM, Netbrain, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, INFOBLOX

  • Working knowledge of all tools in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with NASA leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in engineering domain.

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a group and independently

  • Experience effectively communicating within a team environment and have experience mentoring & guiding team members

  • Desire and commitment to improve capabilities of their team

  • Experience in a government or aerospace environment, particularly with NASA systems

  • Familiarity with operational support procedures for high-stakes mission environments
