Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized engineering firm, is undergoing exceptional growth within its Food and Beverage Group-creating an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Food and Beverage Project Engineer to join our expanding team.

Responsibilities include:

  • May serve as a technical resource, program manager, project manager, and/or technical leader on projects.
  • Prepares engineering and design documents, computations and/or quantity estimates.
  • Prepares, analyzes and/or modifies reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Develops or provides input on probable construction cost estimates for projects.
  • Prepares and monitors budgets for specifics tasks within assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of specific tasks within assigned projects.
  • May prepare a forecast of workload for assigned staff.
  • Performs quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
  • Visits project sites to monitor progress and handle routine construction administration.
  • Assists with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Attends client meetings - days or nights.
  • May serve as onsite project representative.
  • May lead marketing pursuits and/or act as client contact and investigate and identify marketing opportunities to attract clients and obtain work for the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least four years of relevant experience.

OR

  • An associate degree in drafting or at least six years of drafting experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following:

  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Managing complex projects within the food & beverage industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for a food plant
  • Opportunity identification and development
  • Professional engineering license
