Here is how the VP EHS role will impact our business:

The Vice President, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing a proactive EHS culture by setting the strategic vision and overseeing the execution of EQT's EHS programs across all operations, including upstream, gas gathering and processing, and long-haul transmission. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, while driving a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. The VP EHS partners closely with executive leadership, operations, legal, and external stakeholders to minimize risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance EQT's commitment to sustainable and responsible energy development.

The VP EHS responsibilities include but arenot limited to:

Strategic Leadership



  • Develop and implement a company-wide EHS strategy aligned with EQT's corporate vision, operational goals, and ESG commitments.
  • Serve as the executive advisor to the C-suite and Board of Directors on EHS performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Design and execute EHS campaigns that strengthen EHS culture and performance


Health & Safety Management



  • Ensure a strong health and safety culture throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee programs to prevent workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses while driving continuous improvement in safety performance metrics.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning across all operations.


Environmental Stewardship



  • Direct environmental compliance programs, including applicable permitting, waste management, air quality, water management, spill prevention, and reclamation.
  • Partner with ESG and Sustainability teams to ensure alignment with corporate environmental goals and public reporting.
  • Oversee audits, monitoring, and reporting to regulatory agencies.


Compliance & Risk Management



  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state-level environmental agencies, and other governing bodies.
  • Identify emerging regulatory requirements and proactively prepare the organization for compliance.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for incidents or near misses.


Corporate Security



  • Oversee the executive protection program for all facets of executive engagement
  • Optimize the physical security of EQT's assets
  • Coordinate with state, local, and federal agencies for threat identification and mitigation


Culture & Engagement



  • Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to EHS professionals across the organization.
  • Partner with operations leadership to embed EHS considerations into day-to-day decision-making.



Required Experience and Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in the energy sector (oil & gas, petrochemical, utilities, or related industry).
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex EHS programs at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, regulators, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • High regard for technology and track record of digital evolution
