This is a hybrid position that requires one day a week in the office with the option to elect into a 9/80 flex work schedule.

The salary range for this position is between $18.10 to $20.82 per hour.

Summary

As a Bilingual Intake Counselor at Didi Hirsch, you will play a crucial role in the initial engagement with individuals seeking mental health and substance use services. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough screenings over the phone, assessing the needs of clients and determining their eligibility for various programs and services we offer.

Primary Duties



  • Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Following established call handling protocols, collect information regarding the case to determine eligibility.
  • For those who are eligible for services, schedule the intake assessment appointment, in accordance with established Agency protocols and procedures.
  • Interface with such agencies as the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Public Health, criminal justice services, social workers and others, to give and receive information relative to services.
  • Provide basic advocacy through case management and support clients with referrals and linkage to needed community resources.
  • Develop and maintain skills required for the position through seminars, workshops, or other forms of training/education.
  • Attend and actively participate in all team and staff meetings, supervision and consultation.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement efforts.


Position Requirements



  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Develop and enhance knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and community resources.
  • Efficiently use a personal computer, and work effectively and efficiently using all Microsoft software and the electronic health record.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA requirements, DMH policies, and other state/federal regulations relating to service programs for adults with history of mental illness.
  • Demonstrated basic advocacy skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • A commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
  • Current California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
