Overview

The ArcGIS Native Maps and Game Engine SDKs team is seeking a DevOps Engineer who has a passion for using cross-platform techniques, technologies, and frameworks to develop creative solutions to unique challenges.

Our DevOps team is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the infrastructure and automation processes that support the development, building and testing of the ArcGIS Native Maps and Game Engine SDKs. We work across a multitude of major operating systems and industry standard desktop and mobile platforms. Each ArcGIS SDK the DevOps team supports is unique. We strive to find the tools, frameworks, and best practices that can be implemented and shared across all SDKs for the mutual benefit of all teams. Our team enjoys working alongside a diverse global development team. We collaborate together to provide solutions that resolve impediments and improve efficiency. Overall, we emphasize teamwork and personal growth through overlapping responsibilities and open communication.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, CA area for this position.

Responsibilities



  • Develop automation tools and scripts for cross-platform build and test workflows in collaboration with other internal development teams
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration as code (CaC) solutions for the ArcGIS Native Maps and Game Engine SDKs build and test environments on all major platforms
  • Create innovative solutions for data capture, visualization, monitoring, and alerting
  • Work alongside Esri's internal IT group to solve infrastructure problems, update systems, and find solutions to new platform requirements
  • Collaborate with fellow DevOps team members and actively participate in daily standups, retrospectives, and other team events to improve our processes


Requirements



  • 2+ years of scripting cross-platform workflows with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy
  • Curiosity for exploring a wide assortment of languages, technologies, and frameworks, including C++, .Net, Qt, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, Unity, Unreal Engine, Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Ansible, JFrog Artifactory
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to clearly document work for others
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Exposure to concepts such as configuration as code, continuous integration and testing, elastic infrastructure, build and test pipelines, and package management
  • Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration
  • Cross operating system knowledge: Linux, MacOS, Windows
  • Experience with Git version control

$97,760 $163,280 USD
