Position Overview: This role will provide strategic and operational support to ensure that SAP environments are secure, compliant, and resilient against emerging threats. The SAP Security Lead will prioritize risks, monitor trends, and identify vulnerabilities across SAP S/4HANA and related platforms, ensuring that threats are properly mitigated in collaboration with Information Technology (IT), Engineering, Plant Management, Supply Chain, and other business units. The role will support and facilitate maturity assessments and operational reviews to demonstrate the efficacy of SAP-specific cybersecurity controls within the broader enterprise applications security program. This includes oversight of segregation of duties (SoD), role-based access controls, and audit readiness for SOX and other regulatory frameworks. The SAP Security Lead will be a key contributor to global business and technology initiatives, integrating security controls across hybrid environments-on-premise, cloud, and SaaS. How you will impact Ingevity:
- This role serves as the primary owner of the SAP Security function, accountable for defining, implementing, and continuously improving security controls across all SAP environments.
- Support the activities of user management and roles & authorizations in SAP S4/HANA
- Support key business improvement, enablement, productivity, and security initiatives (on-time, on-budget, and on-quality)
- Contribute to upgrade planning and testing for SAP S/4HANA version upgrades, ensuring security controls are validated and migrated.
- Support post-transition stabilization and optimization of SAP RISE platform, including role redesign and GRC integration
- Responsible for security risk assessments as part of Ingevity's change enablement practice
- Configure, test, and deliver a S/4HANA security solution that meets business and audit requirements
- Translate security requirements into implementation specifications consistent with overall design
- Continue to adopt and promote security initiatives to improve Ingevity's security posture
- Participate in SOX control and control monitoring activities in support of corporate compliance
- Resolve segregation of duties (SoD) conflicts within SAP and other SaaS environments
- Work as part of a global team to partner across geographic and organizational boundaries to share best practices for enterprise application cybersecurity controls
- Participate in audits representing the security design, implementation, and support processes
- This position will engage IT groups (Infrastructure/Field Services and Enterprise Applications), and corporate business units (ex: HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Audit, Plant Operations Personnel). Interactive engagement will require communication with individual contributors, middle management, and executive management.
- This position will engage and manage external contacts including vendors, contractors, auditors, regulatory/law enforcement agencies, industry associations, and technology partners.
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum of 5 years with SAP security, governance, risk, and compliance controls is required, bachelor's degree in an IT, Business Administration, or related field
- SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP System Security and Authorizations is required, Cybersecurity related certifications such as Security+ preferred
- Experience in SAP Security
- Understanding of data security concepts, such as Application Security Testing, code security rules, with emphasis on Microsoft technologies
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (SAP Security Framework, OWSAP, MITRE ATT&CK). Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience of problem-solving dispute resolution, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience to prioritize and delegate tasks, adhere to project schedules and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of SAP RISE environments is a plus
