DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of the corrections utility plant and supervise the plant staff at the facility. Your responsibilities will include scheduling shifts, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring the safe management and supervision of inmate workers. You will manage the operation of the institution's boiler house and sewage treatment plant, supervise staff handling routine and emergency utility system repairs, and lead the development and implementation of a preventive maintenance program. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels and ordering equipment and supplies for all utility systems. You will also oversee contractors performing utility plant and equipment repairs to ensure their work meets all specified requirements.

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a supervisory capacity; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training including two years in a supervisory capacity.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid certificate issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators as a water or wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or higher than Class E, Subclassification 4.
Conditions of Employment:
- You must possess a valid certificate issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators as both a water and wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or higher than Class E, Subclassification 4.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
