Mgr, Pharmacy About City of Hope, The successful candidate: Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Retail Pharmacist Manager participates and leads in all day-to-day retail pharmacy operations including the achievement of customer service and financial objectives of the retail and supplement center operations. Performs all duties of a pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to patients. 25% - Review accuracy of prescriptions and contact nurse and doctors when needed. Be able to transmit prescriptions through insurance electronically and contact insurance companies when necessary. 10% - Lead the pharmacy in a positive manner in performing the tasks needed in a retail pharmacy setting with the vision and mission of COH. Lead the staff toward the embodiment of the Mother Standard. 10% - Answer phone with patients, nurses, doctors and general public. Set the tone for the pharmacy staff. Mirror the way the staff should handle situations with staff, coworkers, employees, and patients. 10% - Analyze the manner in which the pharmacy conducts business. Make suggestions for positive ways to grow and change as our business grows and changes. Prepare paperwork as needed. 25% - Ensure safe and appropriate medication therapies for staff, patients, and doctors. Answer the difficulties with the above topics with patients, other department heads, and doctors. 10% - Be available to provide drug information to staff, patients, doctors, etc. Help staff find information through teaching, finding resources, classes with naturopaths, and prepare paperwork. 10% - Talent Management Guides, motivates, and develops staff by providing timely and appropriate feedback throughout the year. Ensures annual goals are finalized and review is provided on time and with appropriate input Effectively communicates the mission of the organization/department to staff such that mission guides day-to-day activities Effectively incorporates Lean methodology into department initiatives. Effectively prioritizes staff and department work such that short and long-term benefits are balanced in day-to-day decision-making and problem solving. Education/Experience Level - Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required Minimum 5 years Retail Pharmacy experience Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the Council of Pharmaceutical Education Knowledge and Skills - Management experience, retail experience, Pharmacy degree, experience with electronic prescription processing (including insurance experience). Problem solving skills. Experience with retail computer systems. Be able to obtain estimates for equipment needed for our particular business.
