Inventory Control Manager

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Inventory Control Manager to be based out of Louisville, KY. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for managing inventory through databases and maintain levels required daily to meet distribution demands. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience managing an inventory control program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus

What you'll do:



  • Enter data for inventory transfers and cycle count adjustments into computer database
  • Purchase Order management for raw materials and compounds
  • Inventory reconciliations and adjustments for:

    • Daily cycle Counts
    • Month End Variance Review
    • Quality Hold Tracking


  • Receive and issue finished goods into computer database
  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing, quality, and shipping department staff
  • Prepare reports for cycle counts
  • Participate in physical inventory (monthly and year-end) and adjust as necessary
  • Enter Blending Production
  • Manage raw material additives and resin purchases/inventories
  • Manage Grainger vending for all plant employees
  • Distribute monthly resin and impact modifier purchases
  • Update records of continuous improvement report
  • Process and assist with Sage, AS400 and ITAF Tickets (inventory systems)
  • All other duties as assigned


What you'll bring:



  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing an inventory control program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or industrial technology preferred
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control systems, i.e., Sage or JDE
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferred
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques is a must
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organization
  • Teamwork and project management skills, self-driven and accountable

Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Understand company culture and the Atkore Business System (ABS)
  • Become familiar with each product line that is manufactured at the Louisville KY facility

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $86,080 - $118,360. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
