Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Operations Technician to provide technical support for the Base Infrastructure Modernization program at Peterson SFB. This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Create and respond to incident tickets and perform network triage.
  • Resolve IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with IT infrastructure, including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity.
  • Provide system administration for assigned infrastructure and establish and maintain security as it relates to users.
  • Apply security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.
  • Support new infrastructure projects.
  • Perform system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades.
  • Develop and update configuration templates for switch and router installs.
  • Troubleshoot systems document failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.
  • Monitor network performance against current outages.
  • Support engineering designs data calls.
  • Support new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
  • Perform network ticket resolution.
  • Research errors, incidents, problems, and perform incident/root cause analysis.


Qualifications

5 years experience in network engineering/administration. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II). Cisco, Juniper, and/or ITIL certifications desired. Experience providing network operations support for large, complex networks. Experience observing legacy network behavior and comparing against baseline performance. Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects. Comfortable with Microsoft applications including Office/365, SharePoint, and Teams. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize network infrastructures. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).

The projected compensation range for this position is $93,600-$112,000. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
