About the role:

10x Genomics is looking for an outstanding individual to join its consumable manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for production consumable products associated with Next Generation Sequencing chemistry. This role requires excellent laboratory skills in performing production operations consistently.

The ideal candidate will have an education background in one or more of the following disciplines: Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Experience in production of similar products in a manufacturing environment a plus.

This is an entry to junior level non-exempt position in 10x Visium HD manufacturing team. This individual must be a self-starter, quick learner and detail oriented, work well in a team atmosphere, have good communication skills, ability to adapt and thrive in working at a fast-paced environment.

What you will be doing:



  • Execute production operations according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure the integrity and quality of products
  • Perform reagent formulation while safely handling corrosive/flammable chemicals and fragile glassware
  • Operate liquid handling robotic system and complex manufacturing equipment for production biochemistry under supervision
  • Operate and maintain laboratory to clean room standards required in the production of Life Science products
  • Process work orders accurately using an ERP system in a timely manner
  • Review and update Work Instructions and Batch Records (including minor modifications); flags errors proactively and submits Engineering Change Order (ECO) requests when needed
  • Draft Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and troubleshoot moderate manufacturing issues to support continuous improvement and compliance efforts
  • Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of production, testing, and inventory data
  • Disposition material based on QC and production data
  • Provide guidance and support to peers to ensure successful execution
  • Identifies and resolves routine issues within own work area but escalates issues to Subject Matter Expert when necessary
  • Monitors material availability and identifies shortages in advance to prevent disruptions in production
  • Contributes meaningfully to the efficiency, quality, and overall success of the manufacturing operation
  • Consistently meets deadlines, takes ownership of assigned work, and holds oneself accountable for outcomes and deliverables



Minimum Requirements:



  • BS./M.S. in one of the following disciplines - Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2-6 years of relevant laboratory experience in manufacturing or QC of Life Science products
  • Basic understanding of DNA sequencing, PCR or other nucleic acid based technologies and relevant experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load to meet strict deadlines under minimal supervision
  • Effective communicator skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to clearly relay production issues and updates
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly write procedures, protocols, and technical reports
  • Motivated to contribute to a fast-paced, evolving organization by driving continuous improvement in products and processes



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Basic understanding of industry manufacturing workflow and ERP system a plus
  • Relevant experience in a production environment working with standard production control tools - ERP, LIMS, inventory control, work orders a plus
  • Experience with liquid handling robotic system a plus
  • Experience with common lab equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, thermocyclers, microscopes, etc.

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
