JOB PURPOSE
The Computer Engineer will operate, maintain and upgrade, all test beds and PITCO facilities. The contractor shall perform system installation validation testing, repairs, modifications and checkout prior to integration into the fleet to ensure quality and operational availability that meets system readiness objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY


  • Test the Equipment/system.
  • Repair the equipment/system.
  • Identify and procure testing material and equipment.
  • Develop documentation as deficiencies warrant.
  • Examine/Comply with schedules for equipment/system software loading, installation,
  • material delivery, and ship/shore availability.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral format.
  • Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed; direct others as necessary.
  • May serve as a Shipcheck Lead and assumes additional technical and leadership responsibilities as needed to solve hardware/software issues
  • May be tasked as a Travel Team Lead to assist in providing technical support to fleet organizations
  • Offer solutions to issues and problems
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required:


  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Job Located at U.S. Government Facility
  • This position requires a U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment


Preferred:


  • Associates in CS,CE,TM,IS,IRM, or IT; Bachelors in same, MSCE, Sun Microsystem/ UNIX, Cisco router and ATM Certifications.Bachelors in CS,CE,TM,IS,IRM, or IT & MSCE; Master's in same, Sun Microsystem/ UNIX, Cisco router and ATM Certifications.



Experience






  • Experience with ADNS, CANES and/or other military networks a plus.
  • Previous experience performing analysis and producing documentation
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during technical meetings and reviews.


  • 2-8 years recent NC4I(S) or other relevant experience in: Software/hardware development, testing and modifications, including networks; Machine assembly languages; Sun Microsystem/UNIX; Cisco routers; and ATM. Certificate from Cisco for a certified network associate.

Required:





  • Experience in operating, configuring and troubleshooting CANES and ADNS systems and peripherals.
  • VMWare Experience (ESX and Vcenter) - VCP certification ideal (ESX 5 or higher).
  • Cisco Network Device Experience - CCNA or CCENT ideal.
  • Windows Server 2008 / Server 2012 / Server 2016 Experience -MCITP or MCSE ideal.
  • Red Hat Linux experience -RHCE ideal.
  • Windows 7 / Experience - MCP ideal.
  • Trusted Solaris UNIX Experience -- for Cross Domain Guard (Radiant Mercury).
