Director, Esoteric Laboratory Operations - San Juan Capistrano, CA

The Director of Lab Operations oversees the technical lab operations for units with between $70mm and $400mm in revenue and greater than 500 employees. The Director is responsible through lab managers for quality and timeliness of technical procedures, compliance, and overall lab budget.

• Directs and coordinates laboratory activities toinsurethat services are provided on schedule with quality and cost objectives.
• Insuresthat all laboratory activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws.
• Develops and trains personnel within the laboratory and reviews and appraises their performance.
• Establishes laboratory organization plan and delegates responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities to appropriate subordinates.
• Creates and evaluates new procedures and equipment for potential use on the laboratory and recommends new procedures and equipment where necessary.
• Directs, coordinates and overseesmajor unit projects to the best economic advantage of the corporation.

Required WorkExperience:

• 8+ years professional laboratory experience including 3 years in managerial role is required
• Demonstrated success in overseeing a large department or function, with direct impact on service metrics and financial results
• Bachelor's degree is required; master's degree is preferred
• ASCP Certification is preferred
