 Elwyn is currently seeking a Mental Health Program Specialist II to develop, implement, and document individual progress for individuals with behavioral health and forensic issues who are residents of Elwyn's Adult Residential Treatment Facility (RTF-A). Provides supervision and programmatic decision-making. Completes mental status exams utilizing current knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, version IV (DSM-IV). Provides supportive counseling and acts as an advocate to represent the individual's needs and rights with all outside support service agencies, families, etc. Assists and supports individuals in all activities of daily living. Designs and facilitates therapeutic groups. Plans and implements community integration plans. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 Develop and implement individual programs for individuals with behavioral health challenges and provide other individualized case management functions as directed by supervisor or directorProvide supervision and program implementationProvide all appropriate documentation set forth by director and regulations including monthly summaries and individual behavioral/psychiatric assessmentsProvide mental status exam using the current DSMProvide supportive counseling to individuals with personal, behavioral, or social challengesDevelop and ensure individual's adherence to behavior management plansAdvocate for individuals with outside support agenciesInterface with families and other interested parties within the limits of signed consentsDesign and facilitate therapeutic groups according to individual needPlan and implement community integration plans for individualsMaintain communication with medical physician, psychiatrist, and pharmacist as neededMaintain communication with appropriate ancillary service providersAssist and train consumers in all aspects of self- care to ensure a maximum level of independence for that individual. These areas will include all aspects of personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, meal serving, budgeting, laundry, and housekeepingEnsure a safe and a clean-living environment for individualsIntervene in crisis situations in accordance with established agency protocolEncourage individuals in the constructive use of leisure timeEscort individuals to and from appointmentsAttend scheduled staff meetingsFacilitate resident meetingsAttend appropriate in-service as directed by supervisor and required by funder and regulatory bodiesParticipate as a member of the interdisciplinary teamConduct fire drills and building inspections and provide the appropriate documentation for sameReport all problems or concerns to supervisor or directorRemain on duty until relievedMaintain current certification/recertification of CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention. Responsible for adherence to standards, procedures and schedules established by the program administrationPerform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols.Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
 Bachelor's degree in a human service or related field, including but not limited to medicine, social work, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, or vocational rehabilitation with one (1) year experience in adult behavioral health services OR Bachelor's degree other than in human services or a related field and two (2) years' experience in adult behavioral health servicesDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, prioritiesDemonstrated strong attention to detailDemonstrated strong time management and organizational skillsMust be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocolsMust possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferredMust possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record Equal Opportunity Employer
