Job Summary

The Brand Manager of GloFish & Hardgoods Portfolio ($40M net sales, 300 SKUs) is responsible for driving performance across a mix of maintain and mature brands within the Aquatics division for North America (US & Canada). This role combines strategic brand stewardship for GloFish - a brand with maintain-to-grow potential - with disciplined portfolio management for Marineland, AquaTech, and Private Label Hardgoods to improve profitability, streamline operations, and ensure cross-brand consistency across retail and eCommerce channels.

This role requires a marketer who is both strategically minded and operationally strong, capable of balancing creativity and executional discipline. Success will be defined by improving GloFish through insight-led activation while optimizing the Hardgoods portfolio for long-term margin stability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Brand Planning & Execution
* Lead annual brand planning for GloFish, Marineland, AquaTech, and Private Label Hardgoods, including strategic priorities, business objectives, and KPIs in collaboration with the Senior Director of Marketing.
* Define clear roles and success metrics across brands-balancing GloFish's maintain/growth opportunities with portfolio stability and simplification across Hardgoods brands.
* Partner with Brand Activation to translate strategy into actionable plans and ensure consistent execution across digital, social, retail, and eCommerce channels.
Product & Portfolio Management
* Lead portfolio assessments and SKU optimization to reduce complexity and strengthen profitability.
* Drive productivity initiatives and selective innovation for GloFish to reinforce brand relevance and drive trial.
* Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, and Packaging to bring products to market on time and on budget, ensuring compliance with brand architecture and category standards.
* Optimize pack architecture and pricing to support margin stability and operational efficiency.
* Oversee tariff impacts, regulatory compliance and private label requirements with accuracy and precision.
Consumer & Market Insights
* Leverage consumer and retail insights to inform brand strategies, addressing fishkeeping barriers and identifying growth opportunities for GloFish.
* Monitor category, consumer, and competitive trends across aquatics hardgoods and lighting categories using Nielsen, Numerator, and other data sources.
* Conduct analyses to inform brand and portfolio strategies and identify growth or efficiency opportunities.
Operational & Technical Leadership
* Lead cross-functional project timelines and ensure alignment with internal stakeholders in collaboration with PMO.
* Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, and Package Engineering on cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and margin management initiatives.
* Communicate proactively with leadership, flagging risks, dependencies, and critical decisions.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
* Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Trade Marketing to drive profitable growth and ensure portfolio consistency across customers and channels.
* Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing on customer-specific programs and sell-in materials.
* Manage private label partnerships with discipline, balancing customer expectations with profitability.
* Partner with Brand Activation to ensure in-store, digital, and eCommerce presence aligns to brand strategy and shopper experience goals.
Financial Accountability
* Manage P&L responsibilities with a focus on gross margin, contribution margin, and cost containment.
* Partner with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, resource allocation, and financial discipline.
* Track portfolio performance vs. plan, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, Operations, Insights, and Brand Activation to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution.
* Lead cross-functional teams through operationally complex workstreams.
* Ensure consistent messaging and disciplined brand governance across all consumer and customer touchpoints.

Education and Experience Profile

* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related degrees
* 5+ years in brand, portfolio, or product management within CPG or related industries.
* Proven success complex, multi-SKU portfolios brands in varying stages of maturity, from maintain/growth to harvest.
* Strong analytical and financial acumen with demonstrated P&L ownership, pricing strategy and margin optimization experience.
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through operationally complex and compliance-heavy workstreams.

Required Skills

* Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clear direction.
* Proficiency in analyzing syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI) and translating insights into actionable strategies.
* Skilled in project management, able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams with precision.
* Detail-oriented mindset with the discipline required to drive portfolio simplification and long-term sustainability.

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. This is a hybrid role (Tuesday through Thursday in the Earth City, MO office, Monday and Friday are work from home).
