Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Lead innovative bridge designs and rehabilitation projects for high-profile clients and initiatives, from concept to construction.
  • Contribute to a supportive and engaging work environment to deliver high-quality projects on schedule, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail.
  • Take ownership of project scopes and budgets, with the goal of successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Lead the preparation of contract bid documents and manage construction phase services, playing a key role from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with subconsultants.
  • Mentor and guide design engineers and drafters, to guide our future talent while ensuring high-quality client-focused deliverables.
  • Converse with clients and establish relationships built on trust and reputation.



Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to manage the structural design of engineering and construction projects of varying levels of complexity and scope
  • Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for structural components
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills for design team and client interactions

Required Experience

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering from a 4-year accredited university
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in structural design
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland or the ability to obtain reciprocity quickly
  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design



Preferred Experience



  • MS in Civil Engineering
  • Experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation
  • 6 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel



Working Conditions

This position is based primarily within an office setting, offering a comfortable and well-maintained environment. Most work is performed while seated; however, it may require occasional standing and walking. The office is modern, clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. No hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc., are present in our office environment.
