MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of a full-time Airport Badging Agent I within the Office of Airport Security at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Processing customers seeking identification badges by issuing, activating and deactivating access/identification badges for MAA employees, airport tenant employees, contractors, law enforcement personnel, and air carrier employees applying for access privileges to airport sterile and secure areas.
  • Reviewing access/identification badge applications and applicant documentation for completeness, accuracy and authenticity.
  • Fingerprinting applicants and using Live scan-electronic fingerprinting machines and entering data into the airport's security access system database, issue access identification badges, coordinate computer-based security training for applicants, maintain application files and generate reports.
  • Inputting and updating record data in the Controlled Access Security System database; produce access ID badges; query badge statuses; and modify company/tenants/contractor access codes.
  • Sending notifications via-email to the accounting department for payment.
This is a full-time position located at BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of customer service work experience.

*This experience must have involved processing or verifying personally identifiable information (PII) in a secure or regulated environment.

Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills or abilities).

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute the completion of 30 semester credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required customer service experience.

2. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
