The Director, Revenue Operations (ROPS) is responsible for operational oversight and strategic planning for revenue cycle teams and related activities. Builds revenue cycle teams, analyze their performance, identify trends, communicate results, and improve process performance impacting the revenue cycle. Determines opportunities for improvement and facilitate process improvement to affect change in order to achieve revenue cycle best practices and ensure consistency and compliance with DaVita policies and state and federal regulations. Overall focus is on supporting ROPS in it's mission to enable the Village to give life, and to achieve it's vision of being a trusted village neighborhood and world class revenue partner. This position reports to the VP-Revenue Management.

  • Builds High Performing Teams

  • Actively engages in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and retention processes with People Services

  • Ensures that adequate training in all areas is provided including compliance with federal and state laws, DaVita policies and procedures

  • Coaches, motivates, and develops teammates through formal and informal feedback and development opportunities in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values

  • Directs and participates in performance management measures as appropriate in accordance with People Services and Legal Support Teams

  • Creates effective succession planning to ensure ROPs sustainability

  • Continuously develop individual skills and behaviors that promote the DaVita Way of management (DWOM) and the core values.

  • Direct Daily Operations

  • Establishes short and long-term goals for teams based on key performance metrics

  • Performs high-level analysis of key performance metric trending

  • Conducts monthly A/R reviews, and establish short-term and long-term goals

  • Identifies areas of improvement and create plans to resolve when performance does not meet stated goals

  • Oversees processes to ensure effective optimization of revenue cycle design, and identify improvements and enhancements

  • Directs departmental matters including personnel, department resources, budget, monthly departmental reports, and other organizational requirements

  • Ensures basic accounting principles are followed and periodically review and assess industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution management practices

  • Complies with federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal procedures.

  • Monitors and recommends department budgets and developing methods for improving efficiency

  • Understands and follows the DaVita compliance policies, teammate handbook for safety, security policies and procedures

    • Perform Strategic Thinking

    • Develops an understands the related systems and support departments that directly impact revenue cycle operations

    • Drives the strategic process on internal projects within team as well as other key business units

    • Responsible for developing the hypothesis and analysis framework

    • Drive the work of multi-disciplinary teams

    • Recommend and present action steps

    • Assure execution, monitoring and follow-through

    • Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of related healthcare revenue operations issues and trends

    • Attends and participates in Revenue Operations Director meetings to discuss overall strategies and planning for Revenue Operations department

    • Effectively Communicate

    • Works collaboratively with revenue cycle and patient account leaders to implement best practices and improve overall revenue cycle performance

    • Manages email communications and actively engage in meetings

    • Prepares and communicate insights, key milestones, recommendations, and summaries from analysis to executive leaders

    • Communicates clearly between executive leaders and teammates

    • Foster improved relations, cooperation, communication and collaboration with DaVita centers and other teams across DaVita.

    • Other duties as assigned

      • Bachelor's degree in related field required, Master's degree preferred

      • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience required

      • Ability to meet goals individually and in a team environment

      • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and build commitment to our ROPS Mission and Vision in order to execute on necessary tasks and achieve goals

      • Ability to read and interpret an extensive variety of documents such as contracts, claims, instructions, polices, and procedures

      • Experience with strategic planning and implementation of new initiatives

      • Increasing levels of senior leadership responsibility in healthcare revenue operations
      • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle (ex: Patient Intake, Billing, Collections, etc.)

The Salary Range for the role is $146,000.00 - $215,000.00/year.
