Job Description:

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as primary contact for our sales leadership for pricing and negotiations of new opportunities. Evaluate and determine whether each opportunity, based on its profitability and compliance with corporate initiatives and directives, is acceptable.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate a standard price list
  • Manage and set pricing groups
  • Manage pricing through electronic tools available as well as meet with other departments to help develop new or modify existing tools to improve pricing performance and tracking
  • Track effectiveness and efficiency of quotations for the assigned segment / channel. Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with team members and manager to implement.
  • Inform team members on systems, policies, and processes used for developing price quotes. Also responsible for providing pricing guidance and quotations to the sales teams.
  • Ensure pricing levels are set at appropriate levels to minimize channel conflict.
  • Identify underperforming products by analyzing past sales and market level pricing, if applicable, and making adjustments to maximize profit margins.
  • Manage price change execution. Perform analysis to measure the effectiveness of price changes and recommend corrective action if necessary
  • Track wins / losses against competition by scale, products, and geography
  • Capture and organizes market intelligence to improve pricing guidance
  • Collaborate with sourcing on key input movements
  • Ensure latest cost calculator is being utilized in the field (version control)

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • A minimum of 5+ years including managing a pricing desk for a business or product line
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build open trustworthy relationships within finance, business, sales and marketing teams.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience acknowledging requests, setting expectations, and clarifying deliverables to meet goals.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts in simple terms to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (lookups, pivot tables, macros) and above average proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • AFCO product knowledge a plus
