Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology/related discipline is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire with ability to obtain a Polygraph within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

DoD 8570/8140 IAT Requirement: A minimum of a IAT Level II (DoD 8570/8140.01) certification is required at time of hire: e.g. CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, and CCNA-Security


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Linux System Administrator with Database experience. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

What You'll Experience:

  • Hands-on work with Red Hat Linux, system/server builds, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Engaging with cross-domain and boundary device solutions.
  • Providing top-notch customer service.
  • Managing enterprise-level solutions and re-imaging workstations, servers, and peripherals.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Strong experience with Red Hat LINUX command line administration.
  • Proficiency in OS and hardware/software troubleshooting and patching.
  • Experienced providing database management support (Oracle preferred).
  • Ability to apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and address vulnerabilities.
  • Good understanding of database security and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in re-imaging both physical and virtual servers.
  • Experienced as an Oracle DBA, including Oracle 19c and later versions.
  • Willingness to learn to administer Oracle RDBS and receive Oracle DBA certification
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to team projects.
  • Experience or interest in managing ESXi servers and associated MSA storage.
  • Help desk experience and ability to write clear documentation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills under pressure.

Target salary range: USD $98,891.00/Yr. - USD $107,004.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
