Lab Technician I- Flocryl

Under general supervision, the Lab Technician performs Quality Control testing on finished products and waste products, tests potential and in-coming raw materials, and supports Operations with Process testing. The Lab Technician is responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation. The Lab Technician works with supervision, supports production, serves on continuous improvement teams and is responsible for performing all tasks in a manner that complies with all applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Understand and follow all company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Actively follow all company safety protocols.
• Analyze laboratory in-process, finished product, raw material, and environmental samples.
• Perform final quality control analyses for the finished product before shipment/release.
• General lab cleaning and housekeeping.
• Accurate reporting of analyses in OMNIS.
• Inventory laboratory supplies.
• Operate analytical instruments (gas chromatograph (GC), pH meter, refractometer, KF titrator, etc.).
• Report daily production.
• Assist the EHS&S Superintendent in sampling, classifying, tracking, storing, and shipping both hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Support the SNF RCMS policy and principles through the effective execution of each program and procedure that affects the continuing safety and security of each stakeholder, plant site, raw materials, finished products, and as well as the environment.
• Maintain the confidentiality of the Company's products, customers, and proprietary information.
• Train laboratory and production personnel as required.

EDUCATION:

• Associate/Technical degree in related field; Bachelor's Degree of Science, Biology or Chemistry preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years of chemical manufacturing experience equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Able to lift 30 lbs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Practical mathematical skills.
• Ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Superior communication (verbal & written), ability to motivate, prioritize, and organize in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Dexterity is needed to handle syringes, small instruments parts, lab tools, etc.
• Must be able to complete and maintain the following training:
  • HAZWOPER - 40 hours
  • HAZWOPER Refresher - 8 hours (annually)
  • RCRA - 4 hours (annually)
  • DOT, ground - 4 hours (every 3 years)
  • IATA, air - 4 hours (every 2 years)
