Summary: As the VP of Enterprise Data Strategy, you will be a strategic leader responsible for transforming data into a core business asset that drives competitive advantage. You will champion the evolution of Belden's data culture, strategy, and capabilities, moving beyond traditional data management to a modern, agile, and value-oriented approach. Reporting to the VP of Digital Strategy and Transformation, you will architect a future-state data ecosystem, fostering a "data-as-a-product" mindset and enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven business outcomes.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop and Evangelize a Modern Data Vision: Design and execute a forward-looking enterprise data strategy that directly enables business objectives, focusing on data democratization, self-service analytics, and measurable value creation.
  • Architect a Modern Data Ecosystem: Lead the design and implementation of a flexible and scalable data fabric/data mesh architecture, leveraging cloud-native platforms to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility across the enterprise.
  • Champion "Data as a Product": Institute a "data as a product" operating model, working with business domains to develop, manage, and deliver high-quality, trusted data products that meet the needs of data consumers.
  • Lead Adaptive Data Governance: Implement a federated data governance framework that empowers business domains with data ownership while ensuring enterprise-wide quality, security, and compliance.
  • Enable AI and Advanced Analytics: Build and scale the data platforms and pipelines required to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives, partnering with business units to identify and execute high-impact use cases.
  • Drive a Data-Centric Culture: Foster enterprise-wide data literacy and act as a change agent, promoting the skills, tools, and processes necessary to create a truly data-driven organization.
  • Implement DataOps for Agility: Integrate DataOps principles to increase the velocity, reliability, and quality of the data lifecycle, from ingestion to consumption.



Required Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of architecting and leading modern, cloud-native data ecosystems (e.g., Data Fabric, Data Mesh) on platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or GCP.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing modern data governance models and driving a "data-as-a-product" strategy that delivers tangible business value.
  • Deep understanding of the data foundations required for modern AI/ML and generative AI use cases, with experience enabling analytics and data science teams.
  • Visionary leader with exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills, capable of evangelizing a modern data vision from the C-suite to individual business units.
  • Experience leading agile, cross-functional teams and implementing DataOps or MLOps practices to accelerate delivery.
  • A strategic, business-first mindset with a passion for innovation and a history of challenging the status quo to drive results.



Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $180,000 - $267,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
