- Drive a positive safety culture. Ensure compliance with safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
- Demonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership.
Drives the elimination of unplanned equipment downtime
- Mentor and lead technical skills development for the hourly craft personnel and subcontractors. Develop system-specific training materials and use those materials to conduct formalized training and experiential learning in the field if needed.
- Where applicable, be prepared to extend this training to other areas within the facility or the Company.
- Gathers and examines basic reliability data from databases, field tests, CMMS systems, and other data sources, and correlates the data using well-defined engineering techniques and procedures.
- Champion a high-performance maintenance philosophy and implement the maintenance strategic plan to ensure cost-effective asset management, long-term equipment viability, and ongoing improvement of the maintenance systems and organization.
- Apply root-cause problem-solving techniques to find and eliminate sources of recurring equipment failures
- Determine "Bad Actors" and Prioritize findings to focus on the largest or most critical opportunities.
- Provide highly developed, technical assistance to hourly craftspeople and engineers during both planned and unplanned equipment service interruptions
- Confer with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Maintenance Leaders, and other Reliability Engineers to develop a plan in partnership with Operations and Maintenance, to improve equipment and process designs effectively and economically.
- Improves asset total life cycle cost across the enterprise.
- Partners with Capital Delivery to ensure the EM focus on reliability and maintainability of new and modified equipment installations.
- Maintain a working understanding of current technologies that have the potential to improve the equipment or areas supported and provide input to capital project planning targeted at equipment improvement.
- Teaching and training of PM Pillar and reliability concepts/tools/methodologies
- Defines, develops, monitors, and refines asset maintenance strategies.
- Partners with plant PM Pillar/maintenance teams to define, develop and refine the Preventative/Predictive Maintenance program
- Application of Storeroom/MRO best practices
- Leads and develops talent
- Provides reliability-based and precision maintenance training
- Provides feedback on expectations and performance for P.M. team members
- In partnership with Maintenance Leader, leads and builds an effective work team to increase plant performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Defines and deploys appropriate reliability knowledge and capabilities for plant Maintenance teams members: Supervisors, Engineers, and craftspeople.
- Develop technical documentation for processes and procedures in the area. (Work Instructions (WIP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Energy Isolation Checklists (EIC))
- Assist the with the installation, upgrading and general maintenance of production systems hardware and software work on major repair jobs, new installation jobs and modifications to plant machinery and equipment.
- Leads/Manages external resources on projects and programs
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Familiar with thermography and fully understand the uses
- Capable of operating small mobile equipment
Performance of other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or assessment management, technical related field, and/or equivalent work experience in the field is required.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- Professional Engineering Registration (P.E.) preferred. CAPM or PMP certification is a plus Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least 2-5 years in a heavy industrial environment. Previous mechanical or electrical engineer reliability and/or maintenance experience is highly desired. Previous experience working in a mining environment is a plus. Previous proven Co-ops and/or Intern roles are a plus.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- At least Five (5) plus years of previous knowledge of managing a cost center budget is desired. Previous knowledge of developing key reliability metrics is preferred.
