As the District Sales Manager at Crescent Electric, you will assist the Area Vice President in establishing market position and profitability of locations within the district. In this role, you will help in deciding customer segment focus, recruiting, training and motivating a salesforce and leveraging efficiencies with sales and marketing programs throughout the district. You will also create the proper work environment so the focus of employees is on continuous improvement of service offered to customers as well as building mutually-beneficial relationships with key customers and vendors.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assist in creating the annual business plan and associated budget and setting financial goals for district sales personnel.

  • Help assess and recommend marketing efforts to be implemented within locations and across the district.

  • Direct and coordinate sales efforts throughout the district, assisting in account development and presentations to secure business.

  • Measure and hold all branch and sales personnel accountable to goals set forth. Incorporate measurements into annual performance appraisals.

  • Recommend merit wage increases within the established company wage structure and policy for sales personnel.

  • Monitor and review market trends in the industry and particularly with new products and dynamic situations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance to the company's business operating system.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers that provide opportunity for growth and the most competitive price positions.

  • Ensure that district sales personnel receive necessary training to perform at optimal levels. This includes assessing training needs, identifying appropriate training programs/offerings, seeing that cost-effective programs of high value are delivered, maintaining necessary training records and measuring training effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous sales experience, understanding of electrical distribution process and procedures, human relations skills required. Leadership skills, management skills, ability to work with, direct and motivate people, human relation skills, product knowledge, understanding of office procedures, marketing, sales, accounting, ability to establish customer relationships.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting, walking, standing often. Reaching with hands/arms, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, tasting/smelling occasionally. Most of the time talking/hearing.

  • No special vision requirements except vision that would be necessary for computer work and driving.

  • Often lifting 10-25 pounds and occasionally lifting 50-100 pounds is required.

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
