As an integral member of the FinThrive team, the Manager of our Insurance Discover Billing Services Operations will be responsible for the overall business leadership, as well as operational management and capacity planning of a team of on-shore and off-shore billing analysts to ensure optimal identification of correct insurance, crediting and loading of coverage to patient accounts, and follow-up with payers on behalf of the client base. The role will entail building and growing the billing operation, ensuring proper capacity planning, resource allocation and scoping of services to optimize and balance revenue growth and staff productivity targets. The ideal candidate will bring solid revenue cycle experience, client service acumen, and a strong capacity management mindset to drive efficiency and revenue.
What you will do
Capacity Planning and Management
- Work closely with sales and services groups to manage inbound deal flow and staffing needs
- Establish and maintain pricing, staffing and cost models to evaluate opportunities and needs
- Dynamically manage the utilization and productivity of billing analyst staff, ensure they are optimally deployed to client accounts to maximize account throughput, client recoveries and company revenue potential
- Maintain overall capacity planning and management model to ensure proper levels of staffing and allocation of resources.
- Conduct regular account metric performance reviews and audits.
- Partner with HR to hire, train and on-board new associates
Manage Billing Operations & Client Communications
- Define operating team structure and processes for work assignments and capacity allocation.
- Establish and administer client-specific EMR and internal systems training guides and programs
- Manage and audit associate workload, quality and productivity across a client portfolio using KPI's for productivity, client recovery potential, and quality measures.
- Track and manage staff credentials and client systems access
- Track and manage on-shore and off-shore contractual restrictions.
- Ensure compliance with payer regulations, HIPAA, federal/state laws, and client contractual obligations, including on-shore and off-shore terms and condition restrictions. Partner with compliance, legal, and quality assurance teams to conduct internal audits and mitigate risks.
- Stay current with payer rules, billing codes, and industry changes affecting re-imbursement. Collaborate with IT and RCM systems teams to leverage technology, automate workflows, and ensure robust data integration across platforms (e.g., EHR, PM systems).
- Lead or support RPA, AI, or other tech-driven initiatives to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
- Prepare and publish client-specific performance and productivity reports, as applicable.
- Manage and handle client communications, needs and issues as it relates to ID Billing Services.
Track and Manage to KPI's and SLA Performance Metrics
- Establish key KPI's and SLA performance metrics around reported accounts, reviewed accounts, billed accounts and re-imbursement recoveries
- Work with internal Business Intelligence teams and Clients on securing necessary data for tracking claims credited to FinThrive in order to trend and manage business and revenue performance
- Publish recurring performance and metric reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis (as appropriate).
- Ensure SLAs are met and proactively manage client expectations, satisfaction, and contract renewals.
What you will bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Requirements:
- Must work on a shift schedule that overlaps with US working hours
- Must be proficient and fluent with English Language, able to support US based customers and US operational teams.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role overseeing outsourced billing services.
- Experience working with multi-specialty clients, hospital and/or physician billing, and various payer environments.
- Proven track record of capacity management and service delivery in a B2B healthcare services environment.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of medical billing, payer rules, and RCM best practices.
- Proficiency with revenue cycle software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
- Analytical mindset with experience in BI dashboards, KPIs, and revenue cycle reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Technology Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (analysis/modeling) and Microsoft PowerPoint (presentation/visualization)
- Strong Analytic Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to distill large data sets into actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
- Customer Service Skills: Proven customer service skills, with experience engaging both operational and executive-level clients.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a cross-functional, matrix organization.
- Management Skills: Experience leading, training, and managing business advisors and analysts.
