Accounting Clerk 2nd Grade

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk 2^nd Grade in Hughesville, Maryland. The primary functions of this position will be learning to prepare accounts receivable invoices, reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, prepare data for financial reporting and tax filings, and maintain the corporate credit card system. This position pays $31.19/hr.

This position requires a candidate who is able to plan and organize own work in order to meet stringent deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with the public and co-workers.

Two years of experience in basic principles of accounting are required. Must be proficient in Excel. A two year degree in Accounting or a business discipline is preferred but not required.
