| Organizational Unit Overview |
University Printing and Graphics (UP&G) is a self-supporting auxiliary established within the Campus Safety and Auxiliary Services (
CSAS) unit of the Division of Administration and Finance at East Carolina University. Its purpose is to provide a full range of printing and graphic services to the University community in an efficient and economical manner. |
| Job Duties |
Promotional Writing, Editing and Designing
- Write and edit impactful promotional and marketing copy that delivers clear messages to a wide range of audiences.
- Consistently apply the university 's editorial style (based on the AP Stylebook), including sound grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Collaborate with departments and university partners from project concept to completion, ensuring alignment with ECU's editorial and brand standards.
-Prepare, edit and design documents.
-Other duties as assigned.
Web Marketing
- Collaborate with departments and university leadership to refine and improve editorial and design content for websites, email campaigns and special projects that align with the university's communication goals.
-Proofread new copy from urgent assignments to ensure quality and clarity.
- Generate, review and/or rewrite web content to enhance conciseness, engagement and accessibility.
- Create user-friendly content that supports seamless navigation and effective calls to action (CTA's)
- Apply accessibility guidelines to ensure compliance and usability for all.
- Apply basic understanding of search engine optimization (
SEO) principles, including keyword research and content best practices.
Communication Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop, design and execute strategic communications initiatives that will engage university constituents broadly and increase understanding about the Department's priorities, and services.
-Develop and implement communications strategies and programs that inspire and increase knowledge of the department's services.
-Meet with existing and potential customers to market and drive new business to
UPG.

| Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

| Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
* Marketing, communications, media or public relations experience preferred.
* Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems,
HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
* Experience in creating communications strategies and campaigns.
* Proficiency in the use of a variety of mediums and communication tools, including but not limited to social media, email, and websites.
* Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
* Solid research and writing skills.
* Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading abilities.
* Knowledge of graphic design and print production. |
