Job Description

Job Summary

The Manager of Office and Events plays a central role in the efficient operation of the Career Services office and the successful execution of its events and initiatives. Reporting to the Director, this position oversees office operations, manages event logistics across key program areas, and supports marketing and communications efforts. The Manager ensures a seamless experience for students, employers, and other stakeholders by coordinating fiscal responsibilities, event planning, and office communications.

Key ResponsibilitiesFiscal Support
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable for employer fairs and special events.
  • Monitor office operating expenses and provide regular budget updates to the Director.
  • Ensure the office is equipped with necessary supplies and resources.
  • Purchase and maintain office supplies
Event Management
  • Manage planning, marketing, and facility coordination for career preparation, employer relations, and professional development events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employers and contractors during career fairs and special events.
  • Coordinate invitations, advertising, and promotional materials for events.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during employer-related events.
  • Collect and report event data, including attendance, expenses, and other metrics.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including setup and teardown.
  • Maintain a central calendar of office events and responsibilities.
Office Management
  • Coordinate office-wide tasks, including orientation and tabling events.
  • Manage the Career Services website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
  • Oversee incoming communications (email, voicemail) and ensure timely responses.
  • Supervise student assistants in front desk operations and visitor support.
  • Compose professional correspondence to employers and students.
Marketing
  • Develop marketing efforts for events and services.
  • Track and respond to employer recruitment requests.
  • Oversee social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Monitor student engagement on career services platforms.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communication, or related field; relevant experience in office management, event coordination, or higher education preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Canva or graphic design platforms.
  • Experience with budget tracking and fiscal management.
  • Proficiency in website content management and social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
Anticipated Hiring Range

$52,915.20 - $54,000 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
